In contrast with many other chic restaurants that try to get attention by creating fanciful sounding dishes with a "cutting-edge" use of ingredients, Silo quietly goes about its business, focusing on creating dishes that satisfy the palate and deliver something new.The effect was so à la mode that when we finally got around to scanning the menu, we were pleasantly surprised to find many old favorites, including the deservedly famous chicken-fried oysters. After ogling the live-music lounge downstairs, my friends and I stepped into the dining room, a minimalist study in black and white illuminated by crystal chandeliers and silvery globes.Frommer's very highly recommends the restaurant 80% of more than 410 Urbanspooners recommend Silo, and OpenTable reviewers give it an overall average of 4.4 stars. They were also very busy for a Thursday lunch. It was a very nice setting on the second floor (hence “Silo Elevated”) with lots of glass. My friend had the chocolate mousse for dessert and the other three of us had their coconut pie, which was delicious. They even brought several of us tastes before we selected. We each had a different glass of one of their various house wine selections. I tasted my wife’s salmon and it was very nice. I chose the Chicken Fried Oysters served with Angel Hair Pasta, Sautéed Spinach, Applewood Smoked Bacon, and Tart Apples and topped with a Mustard Hollandaise. My friend had the Oak Roasted Pork Tenderloin, served with Bacon & Scallion Mac N Cheese, Swiss Chard, and a Cipollini Onion Balsamic Glaze. It came with Pineapple Quinoa, Baby Bok Choy and Pickled Red Cabbage. ![]() My wife and her friend both had the Honey, Soy Glazed Baked Salmon. We all had their delicious spinach salad which had Crispy Brie, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Raspberries, and Dried Apricots with Spanish Sherry Vinaigrette. The price was either $22 or $26 depending upon which of the entrée selections you chose. We had their Prix Fixe 3-course lunch including a glass of wine.
